Our Credo
Education at Akshara is based on 3 I’s:

Indian Heritage: The rich Indian tradition and cultural values are instilled in the students through the school environment, activities and moral teaching. 
Individual Development: The focus is on holistic development of each child through a variety of co-curricular and extra curricular activities in addition to the academic program; and for recognition of individual differences. 


Our Management 
The school has been established by a Charitable Trust and has on its School Management Committee luminaries from the field of education, social work, scientific research and technology as below: 
Mrs. Jyoti Rathore – Founder and chairperson – is an educationist and member of NCERT Education Council, New Delhi. She is member, Management Council of Vidya Bharati Mahavidyalaya, Amravati and Governing Body, College of Engineering and Technology, Jalgaon. Her exposure to education systems outside India, especially in UK, inspired her to set up an institution which takes the best of the western and Indian education system. She is an engineer and a management diploma holder. 

Mrs. Sonali Balwatkar – Principal – has a rich experience of 18 years in the teaching and school administration field. She is M. Sc. in Bio-Chemistry (rank holder) and has an MBA degree with specialization in HR. She has taught Chemistry at secondary/ senior secondary level. She is a strong administrator and has been Centre Superintendent for CBSE AISSCE and AISSE exams and Deputy Center Superindent for AIEEE exam and M.P. Board professional exams (PMT, PET, PPT etc.) 

Dr. Vinita. D. Apte – Pre-Primary Program Advisor – is a renowned Early Childhood Educationist, a Rotary International Awardee, and founder Director of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Teachers Training College. She has authored 6 books for preschool teachers. She has over 28 years of experience in the field and has designed the Early Years Curriculum for Akshara International School. She draws from her rich international experience of work in Australia, Israel and New Zealand. 

Dr. D. R. Shekhawat – Academic Program Advisor – is President, Association of Maharashtra State Educational institutions, a state level body of Govt. aided schools and colleges. He has made valuable contributions in shaping and guiding the patterns of primary, secondary and higher secondary education in the state of Maharashtra by serving in the capacities of “Chairman Board of Studies in Chemistry”, “Member Academic State Board of SSC and HSC”. He is Founder of Vidyabharati Shaikshanik Mandal, a society with ten higher secondary schools, seven Junior Colleges and five Senior Colleges in Amravati and its surrounding districts. He has been acting VC of Amravati University. 

Mr. Jayesh Rathore – Technology Advisor – is an IIT, Mumbai alumni, IEEE student award winner and Fulbright Fellowship holder. He is Senior Director with Cognizant Technology Solutions and has spent several years overseas in Europe and US providing IT consultancy to financial institutions. He is an active social worker and has been involved in several Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. 

Dr. Shashank Shrotria – Healthcare Advisor – is a consultant pediatric surgeon with KEM Hospital, Pune and Bharti hospital. He specialises in pediatric thoracic and liver surgery and has received overseas training in U.K. and Germany. He has special interest in child intensive care, runs a mountaineering club and adventure training.
